For the next 14 days (or less if lockdown ends sooner) starting with March 30 Three Socks Media will be putting up videos that feature local businesses. Businesses are invited to participate every day, but are welcome to simply pick and choose days, and one-time participation is okay as well. To participate you will film yourself or a designated representative of your business, fulfilling a daily challenge (please see attached page). All videos must be 2 minutes or less and can simply be filmed on a phone. Each challenge must be filmed separately and then use WeTransfer.com to send them to us. (Please direct them to: firstname.lastname@example.org ) Three Socks will then combine all videos received for that challenges into one and post it on our BUSINESS LOCKDOWN challenge. Remember that this should be fun and light-hearted. Be goofy, silly, and crazy! Obviously, stay in good taste, because after all this will be a brief commercial for your business. You may include your business logo and you may record and upload challenges in advance, just be sure to name the file according to the challenge it shows (for example: DAY 1).
Please follow this script: HELLO! MY NAME IS ______________ AND I REPRESENT __(BUSINESS NAME). WE ____(DESCRIBE SERVICE OR PRODUCT). Here’s how we met today’s challenge. (Then you would share your response to the challenge).
(Videos files MUST be named for the day that they address; for example: DAY 1)
DAY 1: Share a little-known fun fact about one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence that you find interesting. DAY 2: Pretend to be a newscaster explaining what the dogs and cats of Michigan are doing now that they can go out while humans stay home. DAY 3: Share three facts about the roaring 1920’s. DAY 4: Imitate Mr. Rogers explaining why some presidents are orange and others are not. DAY 5: Write (and read) a letter to a long-lost sock.
DAY 6: Share your best imitation of Bob Ross explaining how to make the most of quarantine time. DAY 7: Pick your favorite song and change the words to talk about hand washing. Sing 20-30 seconds of it. DAY 8: Create a building out of items on your desk. (You can show the construction or simply the finished product.) DAY 9: Create a 1-minute tutorial on how to draw a unicorn, and then demonstrate it with your eyes closed. DAY 10: Read a letter you’ve written to Clark Kent explaining why he needs the services or products that you offer in your business. DAY 11: Read a rejection letter you’ve written to Charlie Brown (or your favorite superhero or cartoon character) explaining why you need to fire him from employment in your business. DAY 12: Read a letter you’ve written to your kindergarten teacher explaining how she helped lay the foundation for your current business venture. DAY 13: Write a pitch to the Hallmark channel for a cliché holiday romance that would involve people in your industry. DAY 14: Draw a picture of you and your clients/customers after the lockdown ends.
When we receive your video we will compile it into a larger video with other businesses and then upload it to YouTube. Please identify if your business is on the east side, west side or center of Michigan. If we get too many videos, we may need to create separate presentations. *Please note that this is purely for fun. Three Socks wishes to help fellow Michiganders. We are not charging participants or making any promises. Our only goal is to help small businesses like us to stay in touch with clients and customers.
